The Story Behind Jennie Montana

Jennie Montana, (named after her paternal grandmother, Erie Montana) sat as a child with her mother and grandmother as they embroidered and knit.  A local sewing teacher took her on as a nine-year-old, and she began sewing her own clothes.

Today this 4th-generation Montanan, and an award-winning fashion designer, combines her love of fashion with the respect she has for the the west. Jennie gathers and processes bison fibers — which would otherwise be discarded after harvesting — incorporating them into trims, accents, and knitwear in her one-of-a-kind fashion pieces.

Each design is individually handcrafted with exceptional attention to detail, and every piece becomes a singular work of wearable art.

Collectors value Jennie Montana designs for their craftsmanship, authenticity, and the knowledge that once a piece is sold, it will never be recreated.
